I believe therapy is for everyone. All of us seek a life of meaning and fulfillment, but everyone faces pivotal moments at certain times in their life leaving you with questions or confusion. Maybe you’ve found yourself in the midst of transition or considering a big change, experiencing a loss, traumatic event, or perhaps nothing just seems to be going your way these days. Maybe the daily routine of life has you floundering or feeling listless. Or, maybe you can’t put words around what you’re feeling, but something doesn’t feel right.
Sometimes you need guidance to help you regain your footing and find clarity in your personal journey. Therapy is a tool that helps you connect with your internal strength to bring yourself back to you again. I’m here to help you explore and rediscover yourself.
About Maria
Hi, I’m Maria. I have been working in the field of counseling and social work for over 20 years, and am continually inspired by the resilience of my clients. Time and time again, my clients have shown me that through their own inherent strengths, they have been able to break through the hurdles that hold them back and make choices that enable them to lead their best life and find peace within. I’m here to help you come back to your center and tap into these strengths that are already within you.
I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, and I received my Master’s in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. I am licensed in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Nevada. I approach therapy from a cognitive behavior lens, attachment theory, and mindfulness techniques. However, the most fundamental and powerful element of therapy is our shared human experience, and what’s most important to me is meeting you wherever you are in your journey and being witness to your truths. A session with me may include supportive talk therapy, which also involves me gently pushing you to explore what might be holding you back from healing and personal freedom. I also believe that life has a funny way about it, and I bring humor and lightness to our experience together.
Family Reproduction Consultations
I have worked in the field of adoption and surrogacy for over fifteen years, and have assisted individuals and couples struggling with infertility and/or LGBTQ couples or families exploring their options. Regardless of what has brought you to this point, the common thread is that you are not able to grow your family in the time and the way that you have control of, and that in and of itself is a huge loss. I am available to help you explore the options that are available to you, while also talking through what your priorities are to assist you in finding clarity about what path may be best for you. I have firsthand experience facilitating both adoptions and surrogacies, and have worked closely with fertility clinics. In our consultations, I will provide candid, concrete, and transparent information about all options so that you are best able to make a plan that best suits your values and strengths.
If you're experiencing a life transition, considering a life change, seeking peace or clarity in within your situation, or are simply are in a rut, individual therapy can help. I specialize in supporting individuals struggling with depression and anxiety, grief, loss, fertility issues, family growth exploration, adoption, and identity issues. Most of all, I'm here to support you in the general struggle of all the ups and downs that life throws our way.
